Laurent Brossoit: "I haven't been in the League for almost a year, I'm feeling the emotions, coach.:

Bruce Cassidy: I understand. We'll keep the pressure off as best we can and let you get settled in there.

LB: Thanks for saying that coach, I'm sure when I get in there I'll mellow a bit.

BC: You'll do great. Hey, I need to go do some press, I'll leave you with your thoughts.

{From the steam room, a robed figure emerges }

Robed Figure: Good day, newly christened Knight of Vegas.

LB: Um....It's the Golden Knights...

RF: NAY! You are merely the Knights, but it is I, King Midas who make you truly Golden.

LB: Have you... been here the whole time?

Midas: YES. How do you think that this team immediately played for championships? It was my Golden Touch!

LB: Uh huh. Didn't you kill people with all that gold? 

Midas: I've gotten very good at this. Pacioretty was only injured, I didn't kill him. Now, let me deign you a Golden Knight to make you greater than you have ever been! 

:Before Brossoit can move Midas taps him on the pads, turning them and his jersey a brilliant gold:

{2 games later}

BC: I don't know what it is, Laurent, you've come in and been sharp since you returned. You've really kept us in these two games. 

{Brossoit sits with a small smile on his face. Midas bursts forth from the steam room}

Midas: GOLDEN KNIGHT! I could see that before, you held doubt, but now do you see that I am the key to your success?

LB: I'm a believer now! But what's in it for you?

{Midas squints}

Midas: I need soldiers to help me overthrow Caesar. The time is coming nigh to storm his Palace.

LB: Wait.... you want to raid... Caesar's Palace? 

Midas: YES! 

LB: And if I said no?

Midas: Then I shall banish you to the hinterlands!

Ah yes, the old "This event will bring X dollars to our city" argument. Congratulations, accountant in Neuse, you get $8.50 because of the Stadium Series! And you, assistant Manager of the Cary Lowe's, what are you going to be doing with your $8.50? Of course, even though that is how it is sold in spirit, we know that the money will be pumped into Raleigh hotels and restaurants near the stadium and even then, it will probably filter up through the corporate ownership of those various chains, and not back into the city of Raleigh. Really, what most people in Raleigh will get out of this is a couple of days of particularly shitty traffic. On the plus side, thse impact studies usually are put into place to sell the public on building a new stadium or arena, and investing in the infrastructure that goes into it. At least this doesn't cost anybody anything, save for a few extra minutes on I-440 trying to get to the Morgans' for their friggin' dinner party..
